This March, ConExpo '23 saw a record-breaking 139,000 attendees eagerly filter through the three million square foot Vegas exhibition. Spanning over five days, and attracting over 2,400 exhibitors from 36 countries, this year's expo didn't disappoint with cutting-edge equipment and technology that will take the industry to the next level.

Still North America's biggest trade show, ConExpo highlighted industry advancements in sustainable products, practices and technologies. Visitors were invited to experience sustainability in action with displays of hydrogen and electric powered vehicles, waste reduction technologies and additional recyclable materials.

"The innovations in the construction industry unveiled this week will play a role in helping construction professionals drive meaningful and sustainable economic growth. Live events in the construction industry are very important, because you can see, touch and experience the products. That value was reaffirmed this past week across the show floor”, said Caterpillar Senior Vice President and ConExpo Show Chair Phil Kelliher.

As always, it was the big names of the industry that stole the show.

Caterpillar showcased its latest products and services this year with a display that highlighted technology and sustainability. Four battery electric machines along with a series of prototype batteries for off-road equipment ranging from 88-600 volts were featured in their largest exhibit to date at the event.

"We look forward to showing Caterpillar's latest construction products and services portfolio featuring advancements to help customers meet their requirements for performance, durability and economic value. We'll also demonstrate how we're supporting customers on their sustainability journey through fuel efficiency and alternative power sources”, said Jim Umpleby, Caterpillar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Volvo CE also brought along various autonomous and electric machines, including the HX04 prototype hydrogen articulated hauler, EC230 electric excavator pilot and the Zeux autonomous concept wheel loader.

Komatsu demonstrated how they will help customers manage energy transitions and increase efficiencies to aid in reduction of fuel burn and emissions by showcasing their HB365LC-3 hybrid excavator. Attendees were able to learn about the machine and how it was designed to provide high production and efficiency with low fuel consumption.

Liebherr exhibited the latest machines and a wide range of digital service solutions this year, allowing insight into the future of the industry. The robust, powerful and efficient TA 230 Litronic ADT was displayed for the first time on an international stage, boasting incredibly fast cycle times, an efficient drivetrain and a machine body designed for easy maintenance.

Again, the show exceeded all expectations and has given us dirt nerds a long list of new equipment and tech to get excited about.
